Imagine .............

Imagine feeling like you dont have the confidence to stand in front of a room of people (like most people dont)

Imagine not believing that you could ever be different from what you are (like most poeple do)

Imagine the feeling of absolute joy that can only come from deep inside (like we should all feel)

Then, remembering how good that intense self love from within felt .............

Slowly breathe out ...........

Then click on the link below - and be inspired to dream !!!

Well just thought that I would in some of the blanks for those that are wondering whats been happening. Life continues to tick along as Winter has arrived big time in Sydney. Today is the first day that it has stopped raining and that is a good thing. Although we have been facing a severe water shortage the problem is exacerbated when it does rain as it has for the last five days because it then floods.

You know the old saying it doesnt rain but when it does it pours ...... guess what .... that is what hit the land Downunder this last week. We have had some incredible weather that has started to fill our Dams (water storage) which is good but also has sent so much rain that the farmers crops are under three feet of water. Go figure. Tell me Global Warming and the damage we are doing to the planet is a myth - yeah right !

Ok so that was me sounding off for the start of the week.

On a brighter note - as the rain cleared up late yesterday and I had been housebound working on the book and documentary (more will be added on that later), I went for a run and took my "exerband" with me to do a few outdoor exercises.

This is one exercise (the lunge) that most people hate. But is a great one for shaping the thighs and butt. I often used to tell my clients that with this exercise the harder you focus and work the better the result you will get - isnt that what you really want - so it can be achieved.

The couple of things to remember are that your goal is to "lower the back knee down towards the ground" and not moving the front knee forward as most people do and then while focusing on keeping your stomach "tense" squeeze your butt muscles on the way up.

Stay tuned for more exercise tips.

Sun Fun and Notorious Characters

Well if I thought the jealousy scale couldnt get any higher - I was wrong !!

Earlier today my email inbox let me know that I had received some mail. I opened it to see the first update from J-Dawg and the Ring Leader aka the Minister of Florida Fun - Bad A** Bob.

Take a look for yourselves and see if Im joking ... it looks like they are having mucho gracious FUN senior'

Those are extral large Corona's that had my taste buds salivating and look at their suntans. Did I mention that its been raining for the last week downunder ??? No seriously look at those smiles. Are they two happy little chappies or what ?? They did point out that on the boat behind there was some "action happening by two out of shape oldies" that really wasnt good to see hahaha.

Well its another tempting reason for us all to get to Florida and be part of the generosity that Bob and Lisa have been offering. For those of us that arent they boys - CHEERS !!

The adventure begins .......

Well I have it on good authority that a few of the gang are getting together do undertake a "fishing expedition" somewhere off Florida.
I must say it would have been nice to have been invited. Sure I can't go, but its always better to have been asked and been in a position to have turned it down hahahaha.
So let me fill you in the on the "usual suspects" identities.
This exciting adventure will be led by the infamous Yogini Bob. See picture at left. He looks serene almost but dont be fooled he is dangerous and surely will become infamous.

Although a recent Yoga convertee to the spiritual world (his last exploit spiritually was under the guidance and direction of his offsider - Downunder T, a notorious Corona drinker and all round hell-raiser).
This time Yogini Bob leads the pack and from what I am told its into "unchartered waters". He will of course be assisted by his lovely partner who herself has instant fame for creating new Yoga positions such as "downward spanking dawg", and of course
These two rebel rousers are hosting the gentle soul that is J-Dawg and taking him to a place he is not too familiar with.

Its a combination of Spring Break meets Summer Love. Yes that is right. Its West Palm Heaven and Im sure that the pictures they send me will be worthy of a post. J-Dawg has been promised an insight into the female of the species - Florida style.

I know that makes most men began to drool but lets wait for the pictures and the stories of which I will report back to you all. It will of course be kept on the QT and DownLow.

Stay Tuned for more updates !!

Best wishes from all of us to you both !

Well what a gorgeous couple they make !

It seems like the weather was sensational and the scenery reminds those of us that are stuck in our various cities all over the world that we are not back in Maui.

Congratulations to Me-Shell and Mike for their day and WOW you really scrubbed up well. From all of your Co-Ed Swell family we wish you both a long and happy life together.

We are working like crazy to afford our next adventure - and YES if you were to ask me anyday of the week where I would rather be it would require no thinking.

Back eating great food (from Chef Caroleena), having the pants scared off me while being driven to the next surf break by the Crazy Canuck (Renee), getting a totally relaxing body massage treatment under the stars from the Healing Hands (Morning Star), and listening to the guidance of which wave to catch offered by the Bride (Me-Shell, Founder of the Retreat).

Then you had the smiles of all of us ............ and they were like Sunbeams to Heaven when we caught a wave and were paddling back out into the line-up.

I travel extensively all over the world and now for the second time in my life Hawaii holds a special place in my heart. I did the Hawaii Ironman in 2000 on Kona and will never forget it BUT this time it was the people and their friendship and love that made Maui special !

So I finally managed to download some of the pictures from last week (Sunday) when I went for a surf.
It was a gorgeous first day of Winter. Everyone was out enjoying what would be the last nice day for week.

This shot was taken down at Manly Beach which is the north side of Sydney Harbour and quite long.
Its a good beach break and I grabbed a few shots before heading out where it was spectacular.
The water was glassy and the barrels were plentiful. I even got one but alas no photo so you will just have to take my word for it hahaha. I surfed for about hour and half and as it wasnt too crowded found that I had caught just enough waves to feel "centred", which was really cool.
These shots were before the great rains arrived.

It has been rainy and cold the last four days - not anything pleasant and I know that the farmers need the water, we have been experiencing unusually warm climate (which I like) and its good for Mother Earth to get a drink to reduce the Water Restrictions ....BUT ..........

Its cold. Its wet. Its windy.
Ok so I may have the onset of the Winter Blues.

Lucky for me its only three weeks until I fly on the 3rd July to San Diego for the World Fitness Convention (5th -9th) and then I am off to Los Angeles for the following week before returning to Sydney on the 17th.

They tell me its Summer over there - Yeehaaarrrrr - Bring It On !!!

Highly Recommended !!

I just wanted to post this so that anyone who comes across this Blog will know what we were all doing and why.

www.swellwomen.com - Yoga and Surfing its like Bliss in the Islands of Hawaii.

My thoughts of the last week in April 2007.

What a week - GREAT Food, GREAT People, GREAT Surfing and GREAT Yoga !!!
When it comes to finding things to do with my very rare spare time it was a fantastic choice to spend a week with some of the nicest people that I have ever met anywhere in the world.

Me-Shell and her team were friendly, professional and "warm" to all of us who were there to be part of a unique experience.

The guests whom I now call friends shared what will be one of my favorite holidays of all time. THANK YOU ALL !!

Well after a beautiful weekend in which I finally got to have a few waves. The water wasnt too cold although I still required my steamer wetsuit (long arms and long legs) but it was crystal clear water.

Waves were about 2-3 feet and managed to get quite a few good ones. Although no photos as there was no "Island Mike the Photographer" on the beach. I think from now on I will have to take my own cameraman with me hahaha.

I thought that I would remind you all of my view on the world.

Yes I do tend to see a lot of things with an upside down view and I think that comes from being a DOWNUNDER BOY.

Hope you are all well and getting ready for a Summer of LOVE.

This had to be added without delay. Its a great shot of my homey Bob-erator going backside at a local break in Florida (I imagine) and check out that style .....

Not only is it not a bad sized wave but Im sure at the next section he was inside the tube.

Keep sending me pics like this or any that you want to share with your "Retreat family" and I will get them on here asap.

Well although we have officially entered Winter down here its still blue skies and nice. Its cooler and there are small waves rolling in and with this picture arriving has inspired me to head down tomorrow morning (Sunday) and grab some fun.

Its still great to hear from you all and looking forward to more enjoyable "sharing" with those of you that I met on the retreat.

Best as always

Positive thought from the Global Health Warrior

When we look up and see a blue sky and white clouds we feel like its light and we feel peace.

When we look up and see rain clouds we feel like its dark and we sometimes get sad and anxious.

In fact the blue sky is still there. It has just been covered by some cloud that will nourish the earth.

This is how we should see our lives.

We are always the blue sky but sometimes we face issues that need to be dealt with but not often enough do we realize that apart from the issues we are still the same wonderful people that we always are.

We are like the blue sky and white clouds. Smile and let the rain fall.

Its just a cleansing shower.

Went to PINK concert last night

Ok was just scanning through my photos as last night I went to see PINK - what a fantastic concert and now have been re-confirmed as a HUGE fan.

She was not only totally awesome but she looked amazing. Her body was a 10 out of 10. She looked gorgeous and her voice was tremendous. Her songs always resonate with me.

My favorite is "Who Knew" which I have always related to. A friend of mine got the tickets and when we showed up to my surprize and delight we were in the "mosh-pit". It was crowded with a lot of girls (most were young and gay) and there for a good time but very friendly. Guess I was no threat hahaha. I must admit that as worldly traveled as I am even I was surprized by how young these girls were and very openly displaying their affections.

The girl (friend only) that I was with is a great person and knew that I was a fan and thought if we were going to go then we had to be real close. And we were. I was about 10 feet from the stage and PINK and I really had shared something hahaha.

The show was unbelievable and I would highly recommend that if you get the chance then go and see what is without doubt one of the best shows that I have ever seen.

Take a look at this picture. She was sitting there talking with the crowd, and actually is signing a shirt for a girl that threw it up on stage. People who had been to other shows had also bought her marshmallows and chocolate as she loves them and all of a sudden there was a shower of treats up on stage which PINK loved.

She said she really likes it down here and the crowd went wild. Seriously though she is gorgeous and if she wasnt married and I wasnt over here and .... oh well you get the drift.

Now back to the book ..........................

Well its nearly the end of the week downunder.

Its approaching lunchtime on Thursday and I needed to take a rest from writing the book and after getting some emails from everyone who have been checking out the blog thought that I would update it.

I am busy getting things done before I head back to the U.S. in July for the World Fitness Convention in San Diego where I am hoping (all going well) to do a launch for my book. It has a working title of "The Human-ECO Diet". Its about getting our bodies back to an ECO friendly enviroment and using examples of the damage we are doing to the planet to create understanding.

For those that havent written a book its a little like a combination of "cramming for an exam" mixed with writing a PhD paper. You go crazy and sleep very little. Well that works for me.

Here is the photo that I will most likely be using on my jacket cover. Had it taken in February for my PR shots. Wish I had my make-up lady and stylist with me all the time hahaha.

When you are just writing which I call "brain-dumping", after a while everything seems to be a blur. However sometimes when I am doing my daily Yoga class I will come up with a brilliant idea as my mind and body relax and is totally clear. When I get home and begin to see where in the book I can fit it - I find that I have already got that great idea in a previous chapter. Talk about feeling like I have Deja Vu or is that Alzehiemers hahaha.

I got a couple of nice emails from Lisa, Daniel, Morning Star, Renee and some text messages from Bob and Jonathan. Its good to know that we are all feeling the same. Great connections were made during the holiday and Im glad that we are staying in touch.

Another great day downunder

Hi everyone,

Its the weekend already here (advantage of being always head of the rest of the world haha), and this morning I loaded up the "beast" (Black BMW X5) with my board + wetsuit (long arms / long legs) and headed down through the clear blue sky towards the surf at Manly.

This place is about 10 mins from the middle of Sydney that you got to view during the "greatest Olympics of all time". The sun was beaming down and the water was crystal and still with no wind. It was just like some of the mornings we shared on Maui without the "heat" - pity.

However when I drove over the hill to head down to the sandy beach I noticed a distinct lack of rideable waves. So instead I went for a walk along the waters edge and reflected on the many "friends" I had made only one month ago and how technology had allowed me to remain globally connected.

Over night I received text messages from Florida Bob and Little Lisa's progress which was great to hear - I miss you my drinking buddies !

I got word from J-Dawg that he was off on a camping trip so I hope the weather is friendly and he has a "rocking" good time.

Then I received a really nice email from M-Star* (aka healing hands) and she brought me up to date with what had been happening with her and her beau J-Luv.

It is these constant reminders of how close we grew in a week that makes me glad I live in the times that I do with the kind of people that I choose to call "friends". Whilst world and work issues will always be there its the choices I make to stay in touch with those that are important that keeps me "connected" and "happy".

You are all superstars and thank you for being part of my global family.

Is anyone out there ?

Its been nearly a month since we were all together.

That seems strange that in six and a half days we all bonded so magnificently to beeome new friends. I have spoken on the phone to a few of you and thank Jonathan for providing me with insight that is appreciated. Look at him in the back of this picture - serene.
Not sure about who the two "showboaters" in the front of the picture are BUT from recollection it appears to the San Fran Chef and her offsider The Canuck Speedster.

Its getting colder here

Hi everyone,

Well winter is definitely knocking on the door down here in Australia.

Although the blue skies are still very present each day its very evident by the fact that I have to now wear "sleeves" on my shirts and You all know how much that hurts me hahahaha.

The temperature has nearly reached single figures which in celsius isnt too bad but still cold.

I am envious of you all - Summer is coming and its gonna be a HOT one too. How do I know ? Welcome to Global Warming. Will you take a look at the smiles from these guys ????

If this is not adding to the Carbon emissions that we need to reduce I will be surprized. They all look like they have been having so much FUN laughing and consuming Margherita's for many hours that its bound to make us all want to be there with them .... who are they ... where are they from .....

Oh yeah they are part of the Surf and Yoga Team in Maui from April 2007

Snuba Squad .....

I was just looking over the pictures from the week (as I have done a lot - is it just me or is anyone else also doing this ?), and I found this one to be quite amusing.
Now only Lisa and I know what meaningless inane conversation we were trying to have - I think it went something along the lines of .... well is it going to be Margueritas or Coronas when we returned to the poolside.
But for some fun .....
What about you all try to put a caption to the picture and the best one as voted by me hahaha will get a free foot massage next time we are all in the same location .... sounds enticing doesnt it and believe I can give a mean one.
Look forward to seeing what you all come up with.

This week (and the world) begins anew .....

The week begins anew,

Its a Monday morning and I wanted to send you all a little reminder of how good we all felt when this lady pictured with me was giving us the massage of a lifetime.

Now stop laughing everyone .... for the record I never wore "granny undies" ... they were just old unfashionable boxers from the 50's .... hahahaha see you all know that is so not me - heck I hate to wear clothing.

The term Healing Hands was so evident when each person would emerge from behind the white curtain with "Massage Face and Hair" which is always a clear indicator of the level of relaxation and peace another person can provide for us - SHE did that and more.

There is more to come so dont be afraid to comment.

Watch this space !

Its not paradise but its not all bad

Okay, so now that I've experienced the first full day of the weekend back here in Sydney Australia, I wanted to update this weblog with another photo and tell you that I cant help but look at all my photos and reminisce.
Early today I had a phone call with Jonathan about business but also it was great to chat with him and then shortly after I undertook my daily 90 minute Yoga practice which this morning was superb and shortly thereafter as the blue sky continues to prevail I took a drive to the beach to look at the water.
I thought that I would take a moment to remind us all of how and why we came to be together on that little piece of paradise called Maui. Me-Shell whose dream to hold regular Surf and Yoga Retreats have led us all to be together. (In this shot I got her with her soon to be husband Maui Mike the wonder surf instructor). Thanks Me-Shell for bringing so many wonderful people into my life - that all rock.
As you all are waking up to face the day and mine is about to end I just wanted to leave you with one thought.
The difference between being Happy and not being Happy is - INTENTION.
Choose to do something wonderful today - smile at a stranger, offer to buy some a coffee, or just thank the "Universe" for being YOU. More in the coming days - Namaste !

Adding Memories

So I just had my lunch at my favorite local place near my office and was subjected to this memory as I ate.
The food also known as chicken and salad from my local place that I have loved in the past now is facing total opposition from this picture here - YOU all remember that night.
Our taste buds were drooling over every morsel and our eyes lit up at the thought of "seconds anyone ???"
Has anyone else encountered a similar experience and how do we all get a little piece of Sweet Carolynnnnnn Bom Bom Bom ........
I think that I speak for all of us when I say that FOOD will never again just be FOOD ... it was high quality octane FUEL baby - great job chefaroonnneeee.

It begins ................

And they said it would be easy .....

Well in truth it wasn't that hard I just want you all to be in awe.

It's time for us all to show the love. We have made a commitment to stay in touch so please regularly stop by and join in with both comments and pictures so that we can all share the past as well as the present.

This is a great shot of you all that I wanted to begin with ..... I title it .... Global Warriors at Sunset.
There will be a steady stream of pictures and posts which I hope to do each day and also have your comments and pictures added.
Welcome my GLOBAL WARRIOR family .......
